2009 Hyundai Genesis Preview

Hyundai announces Canadian pricing for 2009 Genesis sedan

2009 Hyundai GenesisHyundai Auto Canada Corp. will price its 2009 Genesis, an all-new premium sedan, at $37,995 for the V6 and $43,995 for the V8.

“This is a luxury car without a luxury price,” said John Vernile, vice president, sales and marketing, Hyundai Canada. “We are proud to offer a vehicle with the amenities, driving character and performance people would expect from Japanese or European luxury vehicles at a more motivating price.”

The 2009 Genesis is available with either a 3.8-litre V6 or Hyundai's first-ever 4.6-litre V8. With its competitive packaging, the entry-level Hyundai Genesis is better equipped and better priced than the base Infiniti G35.

The 2009 Genesis is built on an all-new rear-wheel-drive architecture, and has an advanced five-link suspension at all four corners. It offers two powertrains, the Lambda 3.8-litre V6 engine mated to an Aisin six-speed automatic transmission that produces an estimated 290 horsepower, and Hyundai's all-new Tau 4.6-litre V8 engine mated to a ZF six-speed automatic transmission. The 4.6-litre Tau produces an estimated 375 horsepower using premium fuel and an estimated 368 horsepower using regular unleaded, while offering fuel economy ratings of 12.6L/100 km in the city and 8.1L/100 km on the highway. The 3.8-litre V6 achieves 11.4L/100 km in the city and 7.2L/100 km on the highway.
