![]() ![]() Look for these Canadian and regional premieres at the 2011 Canadian International AutoShow in Toronto Feb. 18-27. 2011. Ford Focus BEV (Canadian Premiere)
The all-new Ford Focus Electric is the first fuel-free, rechargeable passenger car from Ford. The zero-CO2-emissions, gasoline-free version of Ford's popular small car is the flagship of the company's growing fleet of hybrid, plug-in hybrid and all-electric vehicles coming to North America and Europe by 2013. Not only is Focus Electric designed to provide outstanding energy efficiency and reliable operation, it also delivers real driving enjoyment. A full recharge is expected to take three to four hours at home with the 240-volt charge station. Focus Electric will be powered by an advanced lithium-ion battery system engineered by Ford in cooperation with supplier LG Chem. The battery system utilizes heated and cooled liquid to help maximize battery life and fuel-free driving range.

Ford Mustang BOSS (Regional Debut)
The 2012 Mustang Boss 302 is back. This modern performance car is built for both the street and the track. Available in limited production in 2012, the Mustang Boss 302 is set to become the quickest, best-handling straight-production Mustang ever offered by Ford. The Boss is upgraded in nearly every vehicle system; engine output, brakes, suspension, interior and exterior all examined to optimize weight, aerodynamics and track performance.
2011 Ford Explorer (Regional Debut)
The all-new Explorer has been reinvented for the 21st Century - with improved fuel economy, improved driving dynamics and a terrain management system, all wrapped in a modern, weight-saving design. Explorer raises the bar on safety with a class-leading array of airbags, including industry-first inflatable rear seat belts, Trinity front impact structure, AdvanceTrac with RSC (Roll Stability Control) and Curve Control functionality.

Chevrolet's newest entrant into the Canadian MPV segment, the Orlando made its Canadian debut at the 2011 Montreal International Auto Show. The Orlando was one of the star attractions at the 2010 Paris Motor Show, and that European model is on display at the Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto. Based on the show car concept first seen at Paris in 2008, the Chevrolet Orlando is a true family vehicle, combining seven-seat practicality and interior flexibility with striking crossover style design. Chevrolet's new compact MPV eschews the bland designs sometimes seen in the segment, and instead adopts a bolder look with its low roofline and crossover-inspired silhouette, while retaining the distinctive and recognizable Chevrolet 'face' depicted by the split radiator grille and bow-tie badge. Orlando will be available at Chevrolet Dealers across Canada later this year.
2012 Chevrolet Sonic (Regional Debut)
Chevrolet Canada introduced the all-new 2012 Sonic at the Montreal International Auto Show. Its youthful, aggressive design is backed by turbocharged performance and agile ride and handling, combining to deliver an efficient, fun-to-drive small car. The Sonic is offered in two body styles: a stylish four-door sedan and a sporty five-door. Each delivers class-leading rear-seat roominess and cargo space. A variety of connectivity features enhance the driving experience.
2011 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible (Regional Debut)
This new convertible recently began production in Oshawa, ON, and goes on sale in February 2011. It includes an enhanced body structure and well-tailored top mechanism - a combination designed to deliver sports coupe-like driving fun and precise quality. The convertible will be offered in similar model configurations as the Camaro coupe. The standard model will have a 312-hp direct injection V6 engine delivering 6.9 L/100 km highway fuel consumption. The SS model will feature the 6.2-litre V8 engine producing 426 hp. A six-speed manual transmission will be standard, with an optional six-speed automatic.
HONDA
Honda CR-Z Concept (Canadian Premiere)
The CR-Z is an all-new Sport Hybrid from Honda. It has a three-mode drive system and six-speed manual transmission.
Honda Civic Si Coupe concept (Regional Debut)
The Honda Civic Si Concept coupe made its world debut at the 2011 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, MI. The concept vehicle offers an intriguing preview of the styling direction of the new, ninth-generation Civic. This spring, the all-new Civic model range will arrive with unprecedented diversity, including conventional sedan and coupe models, sporty "Si" performance versions, as well as hybrid and natural-gas variants.

Based on a gasoline-powered "i" car in the Japanese market, which is a roomy and practical four-door, the new 100% battery-powered 2012 Mitsubishi i-MiEV for the North American market was developed. The zero tailpipe emission i-MiEV will be the first North American production vehicle to be powered by Mitsubishi's innovative Electric Vehicle (MiEV) technology - cutting edge drivetrain engineering that will serve as the basis for future environmentally-friendly vehicles. Gone are conventional automotive systems, including a gasoline engine, transmission and a fuel tank, as these have been replaced by advanced components, including a lithium-ion battery pack, electric motor and an efficient battery charging system.
Mitsubishi PX MiEV (Regional Debut)
The PX MiEV showcases several technologies that are likely to find their way into future Mitsubishi products. Mitsubishi Motors Corporation is a world leader in electric vehicle (EV) development and also produces the i-MiEV, an all-electric commuter car currently on sale in Japan and also undergoing real world trials in several Canadian locations. The Concept PX MiEV is a plug-in hybrid that combines extended cruising range with vastly improved performance over gasoline-only vehicles, all in a midsize package. The PX MiEV represents the most evolved result of Mitsubishi's four decades worth of electric vehicle (EV) research and development.

VOLKSWAGEN
2012 Volkswagen Passat (Canadian Premiere)
Replacing the Passat and Passat Wagon in North America., the new seventh-generation Passat that was unveiled in Paris this past fall will continue to serve the European market. The NMS will be noticeably larger than the outgoing Passat, and will feature three engines when it is launched in the summer of 2011. These are the 2.5-litre inline five-cylinder, the 2.0- litre TDI clean diesel and the 3.6-litre V6.
