Beautifully restored from the ground up to original condition, this convertible features a proper 221 cu in., 85 hp L-head engine and 3 speed transmission, deep Maroon paint polished to a show finish and all done with exceptional attention to detail.
This head-turning 1940 Ford Deluxe Convertible has benefited from a complete nut and bolt restoration to its original style configuration. The beautiful deep rich maroon paint has been flawlessly applied and wet polished to a show finish. Very nicely complemented by a red leather interior that has been completely refinished, including the impressive polished chrome trim.
The 221 cu in., 85 hp. L-head engine has been completely rebuilt, attached to the proper 3 speed transmission. The undercarriage has even been restored with a great amount of care and attention to detail, from the two transverse mounted leaf springs to the frame and chassis. A new convertible canvas top was also mounted on a restored frame and even comes complete with matching top cover to give it the clean look even when the top is down.
During the restoration, the effort was even put forward to source tools, pouches, books and manuals, hub caps, tires, spares and even a Texaco Service station attendant's cap! Just out of long-term ownership, this truly classic car marks a unique opportunity for the next owner to acquire a wonderful early Ford convertible.
